‘The following is another of the beautiful melodies collected in the county of Mayo, by Mr. Patrick J. O’Reilly, of Westport, and which, as I have already stated, have been kindly placed at my disposal by that gentleman. It will be seen that it belongs to that numerous class of narrative airs of which I have already given so many examples; and also, that it hears a strong general resemblance to the melody called “The Young Man’s Dream,” and now better known as “The Groves of Blarney,” or “The last Rose of Summer.”‘1
